Catching Up
It's not that I haven't been taking pictures. I just haven't gotten any of them on the computer until now. Enjoy!
Also, I'm planning on entering in our City's photography contest, so once I have selected the pictures I plan on using, I will post them here. Expect more pictures soon!
**Remember: All pictures on this blog are ones that I have taken. Please do not redistribute or claim them as your own!

Hey there, Mr. President
Pres. Obama recently came to my town. I didn't get to see him, but here's some pictures related to the hub-bub.
^(A sign across from where he spoke)
^(Waiting outside)
^(protesters)
^(The Men in Black, or as we called them, 'The Suits')
^(Tail end of the motorcade. It was really fast,
so a lot of them were blurs. I didn't have a great line-of-site)
^(Airforce One, flying in low and slow for their landing)
These are just some pictures, but I don't think I can put them all up. I'm hesitant to because the city might use some of my good ones in their media presentation about the President's visit. Also, waterpatrol was present but not pictured here until i figure out which pictures they want copies of. The Airforce One picture was taken on the river across from the airport. Waterpatrol was one the river about half an hour before the President arrived, so I photographed them for a while as I waited. I also have pictures of Marine One, but I will post those later.

The River
I'm lucky enough to live within sight of one of the biggest rivers in the country. I love to go down and take pictures of it, because it is never quite the same.

Shooting Through Glass
Sometimes, the best shots are on the other side of a street. No problem, just cross the street. But when something like glass comes in between you and the ideal shot, things get a little more difficult.
Here are some of my attempts at shooting at an aquarium.
*These pictures were both taken at the Chattanooga Aquarium over the summer

My Ming Vase
This picture is from the Grand Tetons in Wyoming. The only thing that could be better would be if the left mountain was moved in to be in line with the bridge. But that wasn't how it was made. I think this little detail makes the picture more interesting.
John Loengard once said, "A Ming vase can be well-designed and well-made and is beautiful for that reason alone. I don't think this can be true for photography. Unless there is something a little incomplete and a little strange, it will simply look like a copy of something pretty. We won't take an interest in it."
I think that's very true. If the picture were exactly perfect we would skip over it. The little imperfections are often the things that make photos seem most beautiful.
